Single-sex schools could be the key to closing the gender pay gap, research shows

Girls’ schools could be the key to closing the gender pay gap, according to a study from a UQ Business School researcher, which discovered female students graduated more confident and more likely to hold leadership roles if they attend single-sex schools.

With the gender pay gap at 14 per cent and the number of female CEOs at the top ASX-listed companies falling, The University of Queensland Business School gender equality expert Dr Terrance Fitzsimmons said ensuring girls graduate school with as much self-confidence as boys could be a key component to tackling inequality.
