Mattia is PhD candidate in management and strategy as well as research assistant at the University of Queensland (UQ) Business School. His professional record includes ten years of management consulting in Europe where he was involved in the organisation of major sporting events. He also held a position as Business Ethics consultant, interned at the UN Global Compact office in New York within the Environment and Anti-corruption department and worked as research associate at the Doughty Centre for Corporate Responsibility at Cranfield School of Management, United Kingdom.

His research interest lies in the field of Business Ethics and he is currently completing his doctoral studies with a project that examines how we understand the ethical implications of corporate tax minimization strategies. His broader research focus lies on the examination of how organizational strategies, that divide opinions on their ethicality, are legitimized or delegitimized.

Mattia has an extended professional network that spans across the public and private sectors both domestically and internationally. For his work he has engaged representatives from the Australian Government, the ATO, Treasury, OECD, Big-4 accounting firms, ASX-listed companies as well as professional association and corporate peak bodies. His work has been awarded a number of prestigious academic awards including the Carolyn Dexter Award at the 2016 Academy of Management meeting.

Business Ethics
How business is affecting citizens and their rights, how democracy can fit into corporate governance and issues of tax justice.
Organizational Legitimacy and Change
Isomorphism, legitimacy, norm development and institutional change.
