Hataya is a Lecturer in Management in the UQ Business School. She received her PhD in Management (Organisational Behaviour) from the Australian National University. Prior to joining UQ, Hataya had three years of academic work experience at the University of Sussex, England. During her appointment at Sussex, she won a university-level award for Innovative or Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching (2015). Hataya is a research active faculty with publications in international outlets, such as Journal of Vocational Behavior (ABDC ranking: A*), Journal of Career Assessment (ABDC ranking: A), and Handbook of Organizational Politics (2nd Edition). As an academic who is highly engaged with both the industry and teaching, she is a member of two professional associations based in the UK, notably Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and Higher Education Academy (HEA).
