Year 12 students
If you are an international student currently studying Year 12 in Australia or the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) in New Zealand, you must apply online via the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC).
The Bachelor of Advanced Business (Honours) program can be tailored to help you achieve your career goals. You can choose up to three majors from:
- Business information systems
- Human resources
- International business
- Business analytics (exclusive major to the Bachelor of Advanced Business program)
- Entrepreneurship and innovation (exclusive major to the Bachelor of Advanced Business program)
The research pathway is offered via a thesis for those students who may wish to enter into a Higher Degree by Research.
The Bachelor of Advanced Business (Honours) takes four years of full-time study to complete.
Students have the option to study full-time, or part-time equivalent.
The standard full-time load for a program is 8 units per semester (this usually means 4 courses worth 2 units each per semester). Full-time study is defined as 75% or more of the standard full-time load for a program (i.e. at least 6 units per semester, or 3-4 courses, for most programs).
International students must be enrolled in 8 units per semester.
It is estimated that for each course a student would have approximately 3-5 contact hours in lectures and tutorials, and would also need to do additional hours of study.
Australian students can study part-time (usually 1 to 2 courses per semester). In some cases, classes are scheduled multiple times per week and students can choose either day or evening classes. This does not occur in all programs. If you intend to study solely in the evenings, please check the availability and timing of classes.
When you graduate you will possess a globally-recognised Honours degree which will help you stand out in a competitive job market. Within this program you will also have the opportunity to take part in an industry placement course at a leading organisation in Australia. Alternatively, this program can be used as a stepping stone to further research, whether in industry or academia.
As a graduate you can expect careers in companies, agencies and organisations across the private and public sectors, both in Australia and internationally. Specific roles largely depend on your majors, but the Bachelor of Advanced Business (Honours) provides significant flexibility depending on your career goals.
