UQ MBA graduate joins BHP Billiton Board

UQ MBA graduate Malcolm Broomhead - currently Chairman of Australian infrastructure company Asciano Limited - will join the BHP Billiton Board as a Non-executive Director in March. Mr Broomhead, who is also a Non-executive Director on the Board of Coates Group Holdings Pty Ltd, holds both an MBA and a Bachelor of Engineering from The University of Queensland. His professional experience includes a number of roles at Peko Wallsend Limited (including CFO), ten years at North Limited (including one year as Managing Director & CEO), and four years as Managing Director & CEO of Orica Limited. UQ Business School MBA Director Polly Parker congratulated Mr Broomhead on the prestigious appointment. "Malcolm has a strong track record of effective leadership and I look forward to seeing his contribution to the BHP Billiton board," she said. Mr Broomhead will officially take up his appointment on 31 March.
