Now in its ninth year the competition, open to entrepreneurs and start-ups across Australia, has assisted over 200 finalists bring their ideas closer to market readiness and has provided important opportunities for entrants to forge connections, not only with other entrepreneurs, but also with business angels and venture capitalists.
Professor Brailsford said entering the competition was as simple as submitting a concept plan by Friday 17 July 2009.
"Finalists will be announced in the week commencing Monday 10 August and those teams will each prepare a detailed business plan and pitch it to the judging panel," he said.
"We provide free pitch coaching to finalists to prepare them for the ultimate test - pitching to an audience made up of most of Queensland's investment and venture capital industries on Friday 16 October."
