UQ Business School introduces the Sustainable Business Unit

A leading group of experts from UQ Business School is focussing on commercial and consulting projects in Sustainable Business for partner organisations. The Sustainable Business Unit is part of the commercial activities of UQ Business School, headed up by internationally renowned sustainability expert, Professor Andrew Griffiths. Griffiths said, "A core part of our partnerships with industry is analysis and research which forms the basis for a company's strategy and change in Sustainable Business. "Sustainable Business is a developing frontier and our Sustainable Business Unit works with partner organisations to supplement and complement their in-house capacity." "We have whole-of-company partnerships with the likes of Laing O'Rourke and have presented to or worked with Senior Executive teams and Boards of international and local companies such as, Queensland Rail, Connell Wagner, Energex, ARUP Sustainability and many more," he said. According to Professor Tim Brailsford, Head of UQ Business School, the School has a distinct national and international reputation in this field. Brailsford said, "The School has developed significant capacity in the Sustainable Business field, building on 12 years of staff research and expertise." "We created Australia's first executive program in Corporate Sustainability, we offer a Master of Business (Business Sustainability) coursework program, along with numerous commercial research and executive education partnerships in Sustainable Business. "We have also established a Professorial Chair in Business Sustainability and Sustainability, which is held by Andrew Griffiths, and have built a strong doctoral research program in the area.
