The University of Queensland has been a force to be reckoned with at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, with 17 past and present students competing for gold, and a staff member umpiring in the hockey.

UQ Business School was represented by athletes Con Foley, Alana Boyd, and Josh Robinson, who have each had great success in the Games and have returned home with a gold and bronze medal.

Con Foley is a current undergraduate student studying a Bachelor of Business Management, and he won a bronze medal in the Rugby Sevens.

UQ Business School Bachelor of Commerce/Engineering alumnus (2009) Josh Robinson was awarded fourth place in the javelin final.

But it was 2004 alumnus Alana Boyd, who graduated with a Bachelor of Business Management, who brought home the gold medal in the women’s pole vault.

UQ Advantage Office Director, Dr Annabelle Willox, was also an umpire in the women’s hockey matches at the Games as part of the Welsh team.

UQ Business School congratulates Con, Alana and Josh on their wonderful achievements in the Games!
