UQ’s Faculty of Business, Economics and Law has announced an exciting new program will be offered from Semester 1, 2016: Bachelor of Advanced Finance and Economics (Honours).

This will be the first program of its kind in Australia and is aimed at high-achieving school leavers aspiring to become future leaders in the fields of finance and economics.

With places limited to around 50 exceptional, driven students, it is envisaged they will develop strong collegial links with each other and the key academic staff.

The challenging four-year program will give students a focused and in-depth look at finance and economics in preparation for a career as a leader in finance, investment banking, capital markets, equity and venture capital or as an economist.

It includes work placements at leading businesses and government agencies both in Australia and overseas or the option to pursue a dedicated research pathway.

Graduates will be recognised as exceptional practitioners with a globally-recognised Level 8 Australian Qualifications Framework degree.

As it is an advanced, specialised four-year program, entry is anticipated to be OP 1 – 3 with Year 12 English and a minimum of Mathematics B or equivalent required.

Information on this program, including the QTAC code (714311), is now available on the QTAC website as well as the UQ study website: https://www.uq.edu.au/study/.
