About the conference
In addition to the valuable opportunity to meet and connect with marketing scholars from around the world, the 2020 Congress will provide a forum for insightful and engaging panel discussions, special topic sessions, workshops, invited sessions and peer-reviewed research presentations covering a wide range of contemporary marketing themes and practice-based keynote addresses.
About the campus
The UQ Business School is located at the St Lucia Campus of the University of Queensland adjoining the beautiful Brisbane River and centrally located with easy transport access to the Brisbane City. The City of Brisbane is one of most welcoming cities in Australia – great weather year round, great people and a great culture. Within an hour’s drive north and south of the city are well known surfing beaches, beautiful national parks and even theme parks for the kids. It is the closest major city to some of the world’s unique and iconic heritage listed natural treasures such as Great Barrier Reef.
Message from Professor Julie Cogin, Dean and Head UQ Business School
We are delighted with the Academy of Marketing Science’s (AMS) USA, decision to assign the UQ Business School to host the 2020 World Marketing Congress. This decision was the culmination of concerted effort and a competitive bid in 2017 by a team of academics from our Marketing Discipline Group and subsequent visit by Professor Barry Babin AMS Co-director of International Programs to the Business School.
This internationally reputed congress will provide a platform for insightful and engaging panel discussions on a variety of contemporary marketing themes with an emphasis on marketing’s broader societal impact. This will be in addition to the valuable opportunity to network with marketing scholars around the world.
The 2020 Congress will be organised by our Marketing Discipline Group which includes a vibrant group of internationally renowned academic staff with active support by our engaged industry partners. The UQ Business School is one of the top business schools in the country and classed as ‘above world standard’ in all fields of research in the Australian government’s 2015 Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) assessment. In the latest ERA assessment our marketing research was classed as ‘above world standard’.
We look forward to welcome the delegates for the Congress in 2020.
