In this talk Dr Williamson will provide an overview of the history, aims and strategies of the Asia Pacific Social Impact Leadership Centre, of which he is the director. The goal of the centre is to create sustainable solutions to the world's most difficulty social issues. He will discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with creating a centre of this type in a business school. He will also share his perspectives on how business schools have the potential to serve as powerful community change agents by acting as cross-segment social brokers.   Join our staff, students and alumni attending workshops presented by visiting academics on their area of research expertise.

Professor Ian Williamson, Melbourne Business School

Ian O. Williamson (PhD, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill) is the Helen Macpherson Smith Chair of Leadership for Social Impact at the Melbourne Business School (Australia). He is also a Research Fellow of the Intellectual Property Research Institute of Australia (IPRIA) and an Associated Scholar of the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business (USA) and the Lorange Institute of Business Zurich (Switzerland). His research focuses on the recruitment, development, retention and the creation of value by knowledge workers. He currently serves as the Director of the Asian Pacific Social Impact Leadership Centre.
