Strategy Cluster Workshop with Paula Jarzabkowski
This workshop will address issues in analysing qualitative data, collected through interview, case-based and ethnographic methods. Professor Paula Jarzabkowski will draw on her extensive experience in managing large-scale qualitative research projects, and publishing from them, as well as he experiences as a reviewer on the boards of many of the key journals, to explain how to both analyse data and present convincing evidence of the analytic process. The workshop will cover issues such as constructing a thick description, first and second order coding, working with multiple qualitative data sources, uncovering patterns, phases and critical events. It will also examine common errors in doing such analysis. The workshop will be valuable to any researchers who have already collected qualitative data and would like insights into the rich, messy, exciting and frustrating process of making sense of that data.
Paula Jarzabkowski is a Professor of Strategic Management. Her research focuses on strategy-as-practice in complex contexts, such as regulated firms, third sector organizations and financial services, particularly insurance and reinsurance. Read more here
