Professor Peter Bossaerts

For more information about this presenter, please see The University of Melbourne staff profile.

Starting from a (sensational?) article in Scientific Reports that discovered a relationship between “gut feeling” and professional trading success, the speaker will delve into the neurobiological foundations of financial decision-making, highlighting how biology not only can clarify otherwise puzzling behavioural findings, but also uncover behavioural traits that behaviour-centred research has overlooked, and shed light what robot traders can and cannot do better than humans.
