This course will support strategic decision makers as well as operational managers in both international and domestic markets to manage successful logistics across their business. It will enable participants to develop an understanding of how to create lean systems and organisational agility to solve strategic and operational issues using a range of practical problem solving tools.
Dr David Parker is a Senior Lecturer at UQ Business School specialising in project management and operations management. His consultancy and research interests include lean systems, strategic service operations, implementation of strategic goals using project-based management and supply chain management. His most recent book publications are Managing Projects, Managing People (2008) Palgrave-Macmillan, and Operating System Models in 'Operations Management: An integrated approach (2008), Cambridge University Press. He has consulted to British Airways, Saab, Fonterra, Qld Treasury, Marks & Spencer, GE Money, HSBC, TI Engineering, Triumph, Sports Girl, amongst numerous other international firms.
Mr Liam Stitt is a Supply Chain practitioner. His principle strengths are in developing strategic concepts, and translating these visions into reality. His ability to competently mix strategic understanding with operational drivers has been built around his formal trade and professional training. His underlying expertise is in Change Management and Business Improvement, and has been predominantly delivered in a supply chain management context.
