In his presentation, Professor Siegfried will explain how economics has improved economic and social conditions over the past half century by influencing public policy decisions.

Professor John Siefried

John Siegfried is Emeritus Professor of Economics, Vanderbilt University, with research specialisations in antitrust economics, industrial organisation, economic education, sports economics, and the economics of higher education. He is a former officer of the American Economic Association, having served as Secretary (1997-99) and Secretary-Treasurer (1999-2012).

Professor Siegfried is also the editor of Better Living through Economics, published by Harvard University Press in 2012.
