Boardroom Briefing luncheon on 7 June: CEO Remuneration

University of Queensland Business School academic Dr Larelle Chapple will address the contentious issue of CEO remuneration at a Boardroom Briefing lunch on 7 June.

Chapple said increasing pressure from fund managers and shareholders to align pay with performance had opened executive salary packages to more scrutiny than ever before.

She said, "The presentation will cover the changes in the regulations and disclosure requirements that impact on the current reporting season.

"We'll also look at the new law introduced last year allowing shareholders to 'protest vote' remuneration packages."

Chapple said she had worked with Honours student Shannon Nicholls and colleagues Dr Julie Walker and Professor Peter Clarkson to put together a comprehensive review of the current state of play in Australia.

Dr Chapple is a senior lecturer at UQ Business School. Her expertise includes corporate disclosure, takeovers, and governance.
