Ethical Clearance provides research with a transparent way of demonstrating accountability for their research and its subjects. It is important that checks and balances are in place to provide assurances to subjects and researchers that the research being undertaken is appropriate, that the results of that research will be used and stored in an agreed and secure manner and that should a participant wish to withdraw adequate guidelines have been put in place.
