TIMC - Teaching

Innovation is central to the growth of firms and entire economies. Consequently, it is crucially important to develop an understanding of the innovation process. However, research into innovation does not reach its full value unless the knowledge gained is passed on to people in a position to use it. That is why teaching about innovation is just as important to the TIMC as research.

The Centre teaches in a variety of contexts. The primary avenue is through the Master of Technology and Innovation Management. This program is designed to train current and future managers in the techniques and strategies of managing technological innovation. The program combines management courses from the UQBS Master of Business program with a set of courses designed and taught by TIMC staff. These courses are informed by our research, and they are very successful in communicating our academic findings in a practical way that is of use to business.

The TIMC also contributes to the UQBS Executive Education program. The Centre offers short courses on topics such as Leading Innovation and Corporate Sustainability.

Finally, the Centre trains PhD students. The efforts in this regard contribute to the development of the next generation of innovation researchers and teachers.
