Research involving vulnerable groups

The University has identified, following the recommendations of the National Statement, groups that are recognised as being vulnerable and therefore require an additional layer of approval/or care when undertaking research involving one of the below groups:

  • Children and Young People
  • People in Dependent or Unequal Relationships
  • People with Cognitive Impairment, Intellectual Disability or Mental Illness
  • People Highly Dependent on Medical Care Who May Be Unable to Give Consent
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples
