UQ Business School expert appointed to new journal

7 September 2007

UQ Business School's Professor Neal Ashkanasy has been appointed to the inaugural editorial board of a new academic journal in emotional research.

Professor Ashkanasy, an expert in organisational psychology, said Emotion Review was a journal that would truly reflect the multidisciplinary field of emotion research.

"Emotions have many different components that can be studied at the level of neuroscience, psychology, psychiatry, language, anthropology, economics, sociology, business, and management," he said.

"Usually discussion of research in these fields is restricted to very specialised journals which are generally not read by members of other disciplines.

"Emotion Review will hopefully bridge that gap and allow for the sharing of knowledge across disciplines which can only be beneficial for the development of emotion theory."

Emotion Review will be published quarterly from 2009 by Sage Publications of behalf of the International Society for Research on Emotions (ISRE).

Professor Ashkanasy is also editor-in-chief of the Journal of Organisational Behavior, associate editor of Academy of Management and Education, and series editor for Research on Emotion in Organisations.

He also sits of seven editorial boards including the Journal of Applied Psychology.
