UQ Business School academic thanked for service to UNESCO

Professor Ken Wiltshire

Outgoing Chairman of the Australian National Commission for UNESCO, Professor Ken Wiltshire, has been thanked for his 'outstanding contribution' by The Honourable Alexander Downer, MP.

Professor Wiltshire chaired the Commission from 1993 to 2006 and was a member of the UNESCO Executive Board from 1999 to 2005.

Mr Downer said Professor Wiltshire had been a key participant in the working group on UNESCO reform.

He said, "Under Professor Wiltshire's chairmanship, the Australian National Commission for UNESCO has recorded a significant number of achievements internationally and in the Asia-Pacific region."

"He was also instrumental in the establishment of the UNESCO Youth Forum and in promoting UNESCO's outreach to young people."

Professor Wiltshire is UQ Business School's JD Story Professor of Public Administration. His main research interests are in government-business relations, public sector management, governance, public policy, leadership, education and training, and comparative federalism.
