UQ MBA graduate Detective Chief Superintendent Jeffrey Loy
Award-winning UQ MBA graduate Detective Chief Superintendent Jeffrey Loy has been recognised for 27 years of service to the NSW Police Force with an Australia Day honour.
Detective Chief Superintendent Loy was awarded the Australian Police Medal as part of the Australia Day celebrations on Monday.
Detective Chief Superintendent Loy joined the Police Force when he was 21 and has worked in drug, homicide and major crime squads as well as working with the Aboriginal community in Nowra and Batemans Bay and taking on the culturally diverse command of Campsie in Sydney's inner west.
In 1984 he was awarded the bronze medal for bravery (Royal Humane Society) and the Commissioner's Commendation for Bravery for using a nail file to rescue a man from a burning car while off-duty.
On top of these awards, Detective Chief Superintendent Loy was last year recognised for his outstanding leadership skills by being awarded the Director's Award for Leadership at the annual UQ Business School Top MBA Awards.
