Mats Alvesson will present a free two day workshop on reflexive methodology to PhD students and early career researchers on 21 and 22 February 2007.
Mats Alvesson is Professor of Business Administration at the University of Lund, Sweden and Honorary professor at University of Queensland Business School.
His workshop aims to develop the qualitative research skills of PhD and junior faculty members by exploring how various ideas on reflexivity can increase the quality and creativity of investigations.
With broad research interests including the management of professional service and knowledge intensive organizations, Alvesson's workshop is sure to be well attended.
The workshop is strictly limited to 25 participants.
Alvesson has held positions in Montreal, Turku, Linkoping, Stockholm and Goteborg, and has been a visiting academic at the universities of Cambridge, Melbourne, Colorado and Oxford.
Recent books include Reflexive methodology (Sage, 2000, with Kaj Skoldberg), Doing critical management research (Sage, 2000, with Stan Deetz), Postmodernism and social research (Open University Press, 2002), Understanding organizational culture (Sage, 2002) and Knowledge work and knowledge-intensive firms (Oxford University Press, 2004).
