Winner of University of Queensland Business School's Enterprize competition 2005 Hydrexia has collected two more prizes at the recent Knowledge Commercialisation Australasia awards.
CEO Jeffrey Ng said Hydrexia's product was a new materials technology for the inexpensive and safe storage of hydrogen.
He said, "The technology is ideal for a range of applications including existing industrial hydrogen storage and emerging fuel cell technologies."
A product of the University of Queensland 's world-recognised commercialisation system, Hydrexia worked with the university's main commercialisation company UniQuest before winning $100,000 in UQ Business School's Enterprize competition.
Ng said winning the Knowledge Commercialisation Australasia prizes was a further vote of confidence in the potential of the technology.
He said, "We won the Advanced Engineering / Materials Prize worth $20,000 and the $10,000 Licensing Executives Society Prize."
"The value of these awards is far more than simply the dollars attached the recognition helps companies like ours build their profile in the commercialization arena."
"And when you're competing for early stage investment funding that can make all the difference."
Hydrexia also won the manufactured goods category at the 2006 Future Materials Awards in May.
The 2006 UQ Business School Enterprize competition promises to be bigger and better than last year's competition with the first round concept plans due by 24 July.
