Managing People, Managing Projects

9 November - 13 November 2009

Organisations use projects to implement change and introduce new processes. In any rapidly transforming sector particular skills are needed to manage complex projects, and the very nature of change means that numerous projects often run simultaneously.

Successful transition demands process knowledge and leadership qualities from the project manager to guide specialist teams to deliver the agreed outcomes. Mergers, acquisitions, JVs and strategic alliances need particular skills in project management, with enterprise systems such as SAP, MRP, and ERP adding an additional layer of complexity. Today's project managers require far more astute planning and leadership skills. This course provides an understanding of managing and mitigating risks, communication, motivation, and negotiating skills required in today's global business environment.

"I wanted to undertake something very different and challenging. I came to this course with no knowledge of the subject matter, which turned out not to be a disadvantage. The presentations, content, network opportunities and complete learning experience have been truly valuable.
