Course Overview
The Not For Profit sector makes important contributions to the Australian society and economy – impacts of which are often overlooked and neglected. This fiveday course is designed to enhance the leadership capabilities of senior professionals in the Not for Profit sector.
Participants will explore how strong leaders build culture and align it with strategy to effectively transform organisations. They will learn how to enhance partnerships and build networks across the Not for Profit and Profit sectors. This engaging course will equip participants with the necessary skills to be able to successfully respond to the leadership challenges faced in this hugely competitive sector.

Course Leaders
Kenneth Wiltshire AO is the J. D. Story Professor of Public Administration at UQ Business School. He is also the Australian Representative on the Executive Board of Unesco and a member of the Commonwealth Grants Commission. Ken's main research interests are in government-business relations, public sector management, governance, public policy, leadership, education and training, and comparative federalism.
Professor Victor Callan is an authority in the field of organisational change, leadership and employee performance and is highly regarded for his research and management consultancy with both the public and private sectors. Victor has been a management consultant for over twenty years, working with some of Australia's best known organisations, including Shell, Qantas, New Zealand Telecom, Suncorp Metway, Brisbane Lions Football Club, BHP Billiton and many Federal and State Government Departments.
Neil Paulsen is a Senior Lecturer in Organisation and Communication at UQ Business School. He has over 20 years industry experience as a successful senior manager and consultant in public, private, and community sector organisations. Neil's research includes the development of intergroup perspectives on organisational behaviour, change management, community engagement strategies, and innovation in teams.
Professor Stephen Gray is well known for his work on empirical finance, assetpricing and corporate finance which has been published in leading academic and practitioner journals. He teaches financial management, asset valuation, and corporate finance at UQ Business School, and was recently awarded the Prime Minister's Award for University Teacher of the Year in the Economics, Business and Related Studies field.
Other presenters include Leaders from the Not for Profit sector, government senior officials dealing with Not for Profits, and Corporates with partnerships with Not for Profits.
Credit towards UQBS postgraduate studies
Participants may apply for credit toward the Graduate Certificate of Executive Leadership for this course upon completion of all assessment items.
Assessment
Course assessment is available to participants who wish to complete it. Information regarding the assessment will be made available during the course.
Please note all participants are required to complete a number of nonassessable items and are issued with a participation certificate upon completion of all non-assessable items.
Investment
$2,950* Fee includes tuition, course materials, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea each day and a formal dinner on Thursday evening.
*Please note, GST does not apply to Corporate Education courses.
