Financial Management at Work

17 - 21 August 2009

Using essential concepts for effective corporate financial decision-making, participants examine the principal decisions confronting financial managers, namely the acquisition and utilisation of funds for profit, and value adding.

Short-term financial management, important debt and equity securities and their valuation, project evaluation principles consistent with value maximisation, risk and return relationships relevant to corporate finance and investments, required returns, discount rates and the firm's overall weighted-average cost of capital are all covered.

Managers are given the ability to define and analyse problems, and to confidently evaluate opinions and statements based on financial theory, ultimately leading to better financial management.
