Service to the Community Award

This award recognizes the contribution made to people or groups engaged in, for example, social, sporting or educational activities.

This award considers first the written submission and interview. Input from lecturers or community support people is also invited.

Submissions of no more than two A4 pages should include:

  • How your MBA has enhanced your ability to contribute to the community
  • A statement of the personal values driving the contribution
  • The range of community activities undertaken
  • The time committed to community and / or volunteer activities on a monthly basis
  • Evidence of the longevity of the student's volunteer / community participation
  • Evidence of the value of the contribution to the individual, group, or organisation.

Short-listed candidates will be interviewed by a panel made up by three of the following and a representative from the not-for-profit sector:

  • Dr Neil Paulsen, Acting Director Postgraduate Programs & Industry Partnering
  • Tim Burton, Employment Services Officer, UQ Business School
  • Kate Ashton, CEO, The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation
  • Greg Tomlinson, Industry Fellow, UQ Business School
