Governance

The UQ Business School Alumni Association is made up of eligible members, is managed by an executive committee, and is governed by a constitution.

Note: There are currently a number of amendments being proposed to the existing Alumni Constitution. The proposed new constitution will be tabled for formal acceptance at this year's AGM to be held on November 26, 2009.

Eligible members include graduates of UQ Business School, The University of Queensland, staff of The University of Queensland, former staff of The University of Queensland and other such other members as the Executive Committee may from time to time invite.

The Executive Committee consists of up to 10 members elected at the Annual General Meeting, including the Office Bearers (President, Secretary, Treasurer) and a representative from UQ Business School nominated by the Head of School.

The constitution provides the terms of reference and the rules that govern the Association. The constitution may only be amended at an Annual General Meeting, provided that the proposed amendments are given to members at the time of announcing the meeting (at least three weeks prior to the date) and will be effective if supported by at least two-thirds of the members present and voting at the meeting.
