Studying at UQ Business School gives you access to a unique experience characterised by:
Relevant content
UQ Business School teachers are also actively engaged in consulting to business - so their industry experience is a current as last Tuesday.
Consulting is seen as core business at UQBS, so much so that we have established our own consulting arm UQ Business School Commercial. We also ensure senior staff contracts explicitly include a day per week for consulting.
Teaching at UQ Business School is also enriched by the School's commitment to research.
Our experts work at the cutting edge of knowledge in their disciplines - generating new knowledge for the world. That new knowledge is tested in the high pressure world of business consulting and then delivered fresh to our students - well before it makes its way into the public domain.
Our research reputation is also the price of entry to the kinds of international relationships and collaborations that will enrich your study experience.
Among our five star* teachers are:
Andrew Griffiths - one of just a handful of experts worldwide working in the area of corporate sustainability in the face of Climate Change
Janet McColl-Kennedy - a world authority on customer rage and its implications for service providers
Mark Dodgson - Australia's leading innovation researcher who was awarded a Eureka Prize for his work in innovation leadership
Renée Adams - one of Australia's few female professors working in finance with a resume that includes a stint at the US Federal Reserve
Ken Wiltshire - a leading commentator on public policy issues in Australia
Julie Walker - researching the complex issues around CEO remuneration
Fiona Rohde / Peter Green - leading researchers on management information systems
*UQBS was recently rated five stars (the highest possible score) for academic staff qualifications by the Good Universities Guide 2009.
A first-class reputation
UQ Business School was the first in Australia to earn accreditation by the world's most prestigious business school education organisations - AACSB International is the US peak body while Europe's quality marker is the European Foundation for Management Development, which awards EQUIS accreditation.
Accreditations contain a peer assessment component so even our competitors must acknowledge our high standards if we're to maintain our accreditation status.
The UQ Business School MBA has recently been assessed - for the fourth consecutive year - by the Graduate Management Association of Australia as a five star program (there is no higher ranking).
The Good Universities Guide currently ranks the UQ MBA five stars for industry links and staff qualifications.
Balance
The UQ Business School MBA has been designed with your life / work balance in mind. We have structured the Full-time MBA to minimise your time out of the workforce. And we've built as much flexibility as possible into the Part-time MBA program - so you can still have a life while you study.
The program also strives for the right balance between knowledge and skills, with the academic component balanced by the unique Leadership Enhancement Program.
Finally, the knowledge component has been designed to integrate both 'left brain' and 'right brain' learning.
