The School of Finance and Applied Statistics is part of the College of Business and Economics at the Australian National University. The school has primary administrative responsibility for the Bachelor of Finance undergraduate degree and the Actuarial Program. The school also offers a range of postgraduate programs in business statistics, actuarial studies, finance and financial management. In addition, the research-based degrees of PhD and Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in finance are also available. The research interests of the school are very broad. A number of staff work on theoretical and applied statistics. Theoretical, medical, environmental, social and business statistics are studied as well as time series analysis, sample survey methods and computer intensive statistical methods. In addition, strong research programs in the areas of finance and investments, financial management and actuarial science are also carried out within the school.
SIRCA is a not-for-profit company. Our purpose is to promote the integrity and efficiency of financial markets. We do this through sourcing and aggregating large amounts of financial markets data and making this data available for non-commercial research. At present, the data resources available to our customers cover millisecond, time-stamped historical market data for 300+ markets covering 35 million exchange-traded and over-the-counter instruments worldwide - equities, futures, options, fixed income, money markets, forex and commodities. Our largest customer groups comprise our Member & Subscriber Universities and Regulators who use our historical market data for research and analysis. We have a partnership with Thomson Reuters through which we power Thomson Reuters' DataScope Tick History service (RDTH).
The Capital Markets Cooperative Research Centre (CMCRC) is a $100 million dollar research facility, backed by the Australian Federal Government, which involves the collaboration of leading Australian Universities and domestic and international industry participants. The CMCRC is dedicated to industry orientated research that develops new technologies to help enhance capital market integrity and efficiency. Positioning itself as a bridge between the practical needs of capital markets and pioneering academic research, the CMCRC has a twofold Mission; Firstly, to develop new technologies that drive the future of capital markets. Secondly, to produce the finest industry orientated PhD graduates and research. As a direct result of applied research carried out by CMCRC PhD students, The CMCRC and its partners have established a range of companies providing innovative new products and services to enhance market integrity. The CMCRC education programme has produced 37 PhD graduates to date, with a further 50 PhD students in the system and more planned for the future.

The School of Accounting, Economics & Finance (AEF) is one of the four academic schools in the Faculty of Business at USQ. The Faculty offers a comprehensive choice of study in undergraduate programs, as well as postgraduate programs available through the USQ Australian Graduate School of Business, and these programs are offered in a variety of modes covering on-campus, distance and online study.The School of AEF offers accounting, economics and finance majors within the Bachelor of Commerce degree, and a range of double degrees (e.g. BCom/BIT, BCom/LLB). The new Bachelor of Accounting & Sustainable Business will be offered from 2008. Specialisations in accounting & sustainable business, applied finance, business forensics and personal financial planning are offered in the Faculty's postgraduate programs - Master of Business and Master of Business Administration.
(Financial Integrity Research Network) is an ARC Research Network, mainly funded by the Australian Research Council but also through contributions from its member universities. FIRN consists of a group of more than 90 internationally renowned researchers at fifteen Australian universities which have come together to facilitate multi-disciplinary research in areas related to the integrity and efficiency of Australia's financial system. FIRN has won one of only twenty four highly competitive ARC Research Network Grants to establish its network and pursue its ambitious goals. FIRN's mission is to enhance the integrity and efficiency of Australia's financial system and to establish Australia as the Asia-Pacific hub of financial markets research excellence. FIRN also seeks to facilitate interaction between the broad research community and various end-user groups who may benefit from its accumulated knowledge.

The Melbourne Centre for Financial Studies is a not-for-profit partnership between public and private sectors, and between industry and academe. Seed funding has been provided by the Victorian Government as part of its Financial Services Strategy. Members of the consortium are Melbourne, Monash and RMIT Universities, and Finsia. They have joined together to enhance Melbourne's national and international reputation for excellence in financial practice, research and education. The Centre facilitates knowledge transfer, and builds research synergies, between industry and academe by undertaking finance research, arranging consulting by academics, and organising research focused conferences, workshops, public lectures and other educational activities.
